Apologies for the novella that follows, but I have grown weary of my time being wasted and I know of no other way to counter it than being absolutely 100% full disclosure. If I reach out for a shoot - please read this.

About Working With Me

- I have been shooting in a variety of genres for over four decades (44 years to be exact). - Most of what I do on Model Mayhem is intended for portfolio building, but I do have art projects that I am working on as well.
- I am very laid back when shooting and am respectful of the time, effort, and talent models bring to the table.
- I am very fair. If I book you for 5 hours and we wrap at 4:40 you get paid for all 5. If we hit 5 and there is work left to be done - you are free to go and it is my loss.

My Ethics

I adhere to a strict ethical code as a photographer.
- I will not ask a model to do anything they are uncomfortable doing. Note I use your profile to determine what genres you work in.
- I provide very detailed shoot plans up front for review prior to the shoot so models know exactly what to expect on shoot day.
- I do not deviate from these plans unless offered or okayed by the model.
- If there is anything in the shoot plan that a model is unsure about or they aren't a match for what the model shoots I keep a policy of 100% open communication before, during, and after the shoot.
- I always encourage models to bring a friend and I won't shoot unless I have a female assistant working with me. Usually my wife or one of my daughters is present at shoots.

Who I Am Looking For

First off - I am looking for great models. I'll define what I believe makes a great model
- They are emotionally intelligent and as a result can bring an idea to life in a way that is more than just presenting their face or body to a camera.
- They know art and have the ability to deliver the concepts that make up an artistic expression and vision.
- They possess an ability to commit once they buy in.
- They can make a statement with a movement or an eye movement that others can't pull off no matter how hard they try.
- They are intuitive and are able to pick up the concept and help run with it.
- They are professional and adult. That means showing up, giving it their all, and communicating ideas, concerns, and needs.
- Great models are ultimately great actresses and bringing some acting ability to a shoot is a requirement for any type of shoot. Note here - Acting ability of course does not mean video in this context. It should be no news to models that you are frequently photographed in unrealistic/surrealistic scenarios (like a pinup shoot, or playing with a beach ball or other prop against a paper backdrop, or standing on a beach in a flowing evening gown for just a few examples). A good model manages to not look out of place and makes the shot by selling it. They act - and if they are good - the viewer buys it.

What I Am Looking For and What I Am NOT Looking For

- I can use a variety of types of great models and will pay for the right models who can help me advance toward my goals or deliver my projects.
- I am no longer working with inexperienced models and I will only do TFP with models I have already shot with who I know I can benefit and vice versa.
- Going forward I am being very selective who I offer to shoot with after some bad experiences.
- I have a long-term pinup project underway that is important to me. I have had the privilege of working with some great models as I develop this project and would be thrilled to find more. If you have "pinup" on your list of shot types I'll assume you actually get pinup as an art form and I just might reach out. 
- Dance, athletic, and fitness photography are areas I want to grow in as I am fascinated by the grace involved and know these are challenging photo genres. If you are a dancer, fitness buff, or athlete and are interested in shooting I will pay in these genres as well as provide images back in exchange for your time and willingness to grant me some leeway to fail, adapt, and improve.
- I love shooting beauty and fashion where women are empowered.
- I am a sucker for a model who can make a picture with her eyes.
- I have recently started shooting old Hollywood style glam and while it isn't what I would post here - it is giving me some income opportunities. Even if we are trying for a different shoot I might offer this in if I think you will be a good fit.

What I Don't Shoot

- I am a photographer - not a videographer. I don't shoot video and won't ask.
- I do not shoot alt or fetish. No judgment - I simply have no idea what constitutes a good alt or fetish photo.
- I do not shoot erotic shots (full open leg, implied insertion, simulated copulation, manual manipulation, etc.). I am not able to shoot with models who do.
- I do my best to research models before I offer a shoot, but I have missed these details a couple of times and reached out to shoot. My sincerest apologies if this happens and results in a rescinded or errant offer. Ultimately adults can do what they want - but it is not a genre that aligns with my normal clientele or vision.
- I do shoot clothed and mild implied with models who work in the nude art genre.

Where I Shoot

- I shoot mostly in The Houston area and have a place to shoot
- I will travel to Austin to shoot in a studio I love that offers a lot of creative options
- I will travel to Dallas/Ft Worth when I find what I believe is a good match with a model
- I will travel to San Antonio on occasion for the same reason

I do try to find local models to shoot concepts I have aligned to a particular location, but if I see a great match I may offer travel expenses. I pay an industry standard commute fee for anything over 50 miles. If I suggest travel and you aren't interested in a long commute I understand. I can likely find something local if there is interest in a shoot and I like your style.
